Welcome to Books in the Wild

Books in the Wild is an exciting online reading programme made especially for west Auckland’s teenagers. It is a free reading programme for year 9-13 students who attend high school in west Auckland. To participate in the programme you need to take a few moments to join up and select a username and password. It’s really easy!

Once again, there are some awesome prizes up for grabs, including a competition set to test your skills – Read the book? Now answer the Question!

Here’s how it works...

Wicked prizes up for grabs!

There are some wicked prizes up for grabs. Get in quick for the Participant Prize Draw in August. One lucky winner at each participating high school will get their hands on a prize. To be in to win, you need to have read and registered at least one book on the Books in the Wild site at the time of the draw. It’s that simple!

Visit your local library and win! Make sure you get in to your local library heaps and record your visits in the Log Book. The student who records the most visits wins an amazing prize. There will be one lucky winner at each of the seven participating west Auckland libraries.

Read the book? Now answer the Question! Get yourself in the running for the grand prizes by registering as many books as you can and answering the questions about them. There will be a fantastic prize at each participating high school for the person who answers the most questions correctly (if there is a tie, then those names will be put in a draw to find the winner).

School Prizes. For the schools there are two competition prize categories - the school with the highest percentage of participants, and the school who has the biggest percentage increase of participants from the last year. Winning schools will receive book vouchers for the library.
