Think, Plan, Do!  Follow these three steps and you should be fine!

Before you go down the road of building a website, think about what you want it to do for your organisation, members and stakeholders - is it a place to publish information so people can find you, to connect people up or somewhere your members can work together virtually?

Plan out what you need (website, email, hosting) and build a budget. Building a website from scratch will require some technical help but even using some off-the-shelf packages needs a bit of configuration to make them work properly. So make sure you know what's needed and include it in your budget!

Finally, remember things like maintenance and keeping things up to date. It all takes time. Ask people who've done it before, follow the links below - there's a range so hopefully one will explain things in a way that makes sense to you!

Website hosting

We don't recommend or in anyway promote a particular host, these are options we're familiar with. Remember the best host is the one that suits your needs and means, so it pays to do your own research and to seek advice from groups in similar circumstances to your own.
